Job crafting towards strengths and job crafting towards interests in overqualified employees: Different outcomes and boundary effects

In response to the call investigate positive side of overqualification, we drew on job crafting perspective theorize that overqualified employees can proactively regulate discrepancies between their actual and ideal jobs via two different strategies: towards strengths (JC-strengths) interests (JC-interests). We expected distinct outcomes for JC-strengths JC-interests. Specifically, benefits both organization, whereas JC-interests only individual employees. further proposed relationship perceived overqualification will be stronger when employees' organizational identification is higher, with organization lower. As expected, use two-wave dual-source data from 653 employees, found was positively related JC-interests; vitality supervisor-rated task performance, vitality. also moderated by as hypothesized.
